The incident occurred at the Çerkezköy Station, on the export train waiting for the departure time to deliver export cargo to Bulgaria. 2 Syrians who wanted to go to Bulgaria illegally climbed onto the wagons to get on the train waiting at the station as the weather got dark. Meanwhile, Syrians caught in the current in the high-voltage line passing through the region, caught fire. As the tarpaulins on the wagon ignited, the Syrians who fell into the wagon were seriously injured.
With the news of those who saw the smoke rising from the wagon, health, police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The Syrians who were forced out of the wagon with difficulty were first responded by the medical teams at the scene. The seriously injured were treated in Çerkezköy State Hospital, where they were taken by ambulance.
