On the night of February 22, two people broke the lock of the cage and stole the fallow deer, which is in danger of extinction and kept in the zoo belonging to the ceramic factory in Gökçebey district of Zonguldak.
The fallow deer, which was taken to the empty field of the factory, was shot here with a rifle. The suspects, who cut the wires of the factory area and dragged the fallow deer from where they entered, took the animal they loaded on the truck to the village.
In the morning, the zoo officials saw that the deer was not in the cage and started looking for the animal they thought they had run away. Seeing the traces of blood, the officers realized that the animal was stolen, notified the gendarmerie. After the incident in the area where security cameras were not available due to the maintenance at the zoo, the gendarmerie teams started a large-scale work.
The teams in charge of the provincial and district gendarmerie commanders applied to the testimony of the eyewitnesses, examined the records of the security cameras in the areas close to the zoo and on the routes. The teams detected the truck on which the fallow deer was transported. The gendarmerie teams set out from the license plate of the truck and detained the suspects Celal Adıbay (57) and Murat Benli (48) the day before.

Celal Adıbay, one of the suspects who testified at the gendarmerie, claimed that she was not involved in the abduction of the fallow deer. Adıbay said that she learned about the incident when her friend Murat Benli told her to come to get her.
Murat Benli, on the other hand, claimed that he saw the fallow deer outside and that he killed the animal by shooting it with a gun and then slaughtered it in the barn of his house. The suspects who were transferred to the courthouse after their procedures were arrested and sent to prison by the court where they were taken.

Sold Miyaneedi, one of the zoo keepers, said at first they thought the deer ran away. Miyanyedi said, “In the morning, my friend said that the deer had escaped. I came. We went to look for the animal. I saw the traces of blood along the stream. I realized that the outer wire was open and the animal was taken from there. I told my supervisor that the deer might have been shot and taken by vehicle. The gendarmerie came. Here, the future work. They looked at the cameras of their places. The gendarmerie detected the vehicle from there. Normally there were 3 fallow deer. Two of them died before due to illness. It was with us for 8 years. They did that. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to get caught. “
