Rafael Nadal, who is in the third place of the men’s world ranking, will not be able to participate in the Miami Open Masters Tennis Tournament due to his injury.
Sharing the title of “male tennis player with the most grand slam championship in history” with his 20 singles tournaments, Nadal said on his Twitter account that he wanted to be ready until the clay court season in Europe. He stated that he could not play in the tournament between March 22 and April 4.
World number 6 Federer also announced that he would not compete at the Miami Open, as he was aiming to prepare himself for Wimbledon.
Nadal, who played five finals at the Miami Open, has not been on the pitch since the Australian Open, the first grand slam tournament of the season, when it was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
